Green Kitchen Bali

About Us

About Us

Welcome to Green Kitchen Bali, where we bring the heart of Balinese culture and cuisine to life in the serene and sacred village of Sidemen. Our passion is to offer an authentic culinary journey that intertwines traditional cooking methods with sustainable agriculture, providing a truly immersive experience for our guests.

At Green Kitchen Bali, our day begins with a vibrant trip to the local Klungkung Market, the second-largest market in Bali. Here, you will source the freshest ingredients, just as the locals do. Following this, we embark on a trek through our lush rice paddies and organic gardens to gather more produce. This hands-on approach ensures that you are intimately connected with every ingredient that goes into your dishes.

Our cooking classes take place in an open-air kitchen surrounded by breathtaking views of rice fields and our organic farm. We use traditional firewood stoves to prepare a variety of Balinese dishes, whether you prefer vegetarian or non-vegetarian options. You will learn to cook dishes such as jukut nangka (pork and jackfruit soup), plecing kankung (green leaves with spicy sauce), coconut chicken curry, and bubur injin (black rice pudding). Each class is designed to teach you not only how to cook but also the cultural significance behind each recipe.

Our Program

Whether you’re a seasoned cook or a beginner, our courses are designed to enhance your skills, deepen your appreciation for Balinese cuisine, and provide an unforgettable cultural experience.

Wonderful experience, the staff were great and explained a lot. It was great to actually get in the fields and pick the vegetables we cooked with. The meals were amazing!

Don't care about the surrounding environment, it's as good as throwing leftover materials onto the road

First, go shopping at local public market, then harvest your vegetables from family's farm, then prepare the basic ingredients, cook and eat. Lovely family run farm and business, surprisingly good

We have had a wonderful day at Green Kitchen Cooking Class - from the pick up at the hotel, to visiting the market and learning about different products - to tracking the rice fields, seeing how they grow and harvest rice, fruites and all kinds of vegetables was an amazing experience. The cooking session itself was a feast and a memory we will not forget. The staff and all around were super nice, informative and skilled - we totally recommend the class and will definitely do it again next time 🙌🏻Thank you for the great time and the food we prepared was delicious 🤤

We loved every part of this experience! I booked the class for myself and my husband and we had to bring our two small kids. Wayan and his team were more than accommodating. The visit to the market was the cherry on top to make it a one of a kind, authentic experience. All vegetables were handpicked and we got to see a magnificent scenery all around the garden. The food was 10/10. It was the BEST tasting food we’ve had in Bali. It’s an experience not to be missed! We will definitely be back and do it all again on our next visit ☺️
