Welcome to Green Kitchen Bali, where we bring the heart of Balinese culture and cuisine to life in the serene and sacred village of Sidemen. Our passion is to offer an authentic culinary journey that intertwines traditional cooking methods with sustainable agriculture, providing a truly immersive experience for our guests.
At Green Kitchen Bali, our day begins with a vibrant trip to the local Klungkung Market, the second-largest market in Bali. Here, you will source the freshest ingredients, just as the locals do. Following this, we embark on a trek through our lush rice paddies and organic gardens to gather more produce. This hands-on approach ensures that you are intimately connected with every ingredient that goes into your dishes.
Our cooking classes take place in an open-air kitchen surrounded by breathtaking views of rice fields and our organic farm. We use traditional firewood stoves to prepare a variety of Balinese dishes, whether you prefer vegetarian or non-vegetarian options. You will learn to cook dishes such as jukut nangka (pork and jackfruit soup), plecing kankung (green leaves with spicy sauce), coconut chicken curry, and bubur injin (black rice pudding). Each class is designed to teach you not only how to cook but also the cultural significance behind each recipe.
Whether you’re a seasoned cook or a beginner, our courses are designed to enhance your skills, deepen your appreciation for Balinese cuisine, and provide an unforgettable cultural experience.
